Which Android?

Hi all, I'm off do get a new handset in a few weeks time and would appreciate any input.

For my own reasons I'll be avoiding an iphone. v(

I currently have a HTC Desire and love the interface that goes with it. Am seriously considering the oneX, but can be persuaded otherwise. ;)
My mrs has an i4s, and the 2 kids (well 20 and 18 :D) both have the Samsung S3. The S3 seems ok, but looks like it will break at any time lol and must admit from playing with it, I think I perfer HTC Sence to the Samsung interface.

Any thoughts will be greatly appreciated.

You can't go wrong with a Nexus device. The Samsung Galaxy Nexus is a great phone and has the latest OS on it, unlike most other Android phones. Or wait a few more weeks and see if LG announce a new Nexus device, which is the current rumour.

I opted for the One X over the S3 as the S3 screen seemed really fragile & there were plenty of reports of it cracking easily.

I too went from a Desire so found it really easy to migrate to the One X.

Hope this helps :)

another one here who went from HTC Desire to OneX & can't praise it highly enough. If you already like the HTC Sense interface then you'll love the OneX.

Thw Galaxy S3 is physically bigger, the OneX while stil large fits easily in the pocket as its slim & subtley curved.

HTC already have new handsets coming out so if you like to have the latest & greatest look out for those. if not, then the OneX should be available on some good deals now

I had a quick look at the Galaxy Note II earlier, looks nice, but then again I have put the Nexus 7 on my christmas list, so don't really think the Note is really necessary :P

All the insight so far has been really appreciated, always great to get REAL reviews ^)

I've got a HTC Sensation and the battery life is a pathetic 3.5hrs!!!!! (even using their replacement battery) I can't wait to upgrade and I'll never use any HTC device ever again!

Slightly at a tangent here, but has anyone used giffgaff??? If so, any thoughts? I like the idea of sim-only, and their packages seem good, but am unsure how well it works.

I have had the galaxy s3 for a few mon
The now and not had a single problem with it, unlike a couple of my colleagues with their Htc one x one of them has had 5 replacements. Also the work iPhones these feeling substantial are always having cracked screens. The S3 stands above all of these in my opinion

They seem pretty good, other than running on the O2 network, which partly crashed yet again this week.

If you expect to have no need for customer service and the o2 network works well in your area, GiffGaff are ok.

Thanks people. I'm not sure enough about it to switch, I think. I'd been thinking a about changing my phone to a Samsung SII - currently talking to Virgin's customer retention people :)

I am glad I found this thread as my HTC Desire (excellent phone) has really had its day.

But now this seems to answer every question. Not only an excellent phone but also an excellent price.

I wonder how long I will have to wait for one!!.

It may take a few weeks to get your hands on a Nexus 4 but they are worth the wait.

I was very lucky. I ordered mine from Google on Tuesday evening, December 4th, got an immediate confirmation and was quoted 4/5 weeks delivery.

However, on Wednesday I got a note saying it had shipped and it arrived care of TNT Thursday lunchtime, December 6th.

And I have been playing with it ever since!!
