VS27 14 April 2012 Gatwick - Orlando
VS28 28 April 2012 Orlando - Gatwick

Does anyone have any idea which config aircraft will be running on the above flights, as pre booking of seats is not available via the VA website.

Want to try to work out where is best for us, as there are 5 of us in flying PE.

Thanks

There isn't a vs27 scheduled for 14th April, has your flight been merged with the vs15? In any case the vs15 on 14th is scheduled as a jumbo either config 1 or 2.

This is the same for the vs28 on the 28th both flights are showing as running on this date.

You can view the seating maps here:- http://www.virgin-atlantic.com/en/gb/al ... /index.jsp

747-400 config 1 or 2 is what you should be looking at. P/E is mostly upstairs plus a couple of rows on the lower deck.

Thanks for that, however, VS27 & VS28 are still showing as my flight numbers in the manage my booking section of the VA website, but as I said, they're without the seat pre-booking being available.
Bizarre or what :-)

I'm not sure where you are getting that information from, but the VS27 on the 14th April is still scheduled and due to operate. I don't think I have ever seen VS merge flights to MCO during the very busy Easter period, which the 14th April is slap bang in the middle of, even if outbound flights aren't full the inbounds will be busy.

The VS27 on the 14th April is due to operate as a 747. You probably won't be able to select seats/see the seat map now because when the 60% of seats that are available for pre-selection have been reserved the system then locks the seat map until OLCI stage.

Thanks,
Neil

Thanks very much for the info. Much appreciated :-)

btw - we were told the reason we couldn't pre-book seats was that due to the LGW 744 refit, they couldn't say whether it would be an existing config aircraft/refurb/A330.

As long as it's not an A330 I'll be happy - Much prefer PE in the bubble :-)

Ah sorry, missed the fact you were flying PE, so yes, the reason you can't select seats is because of the refurbs and them not knowing which a/c will be operating the flight, although with the first a/c not due back until mid April I would expect a current config a/c.

Nice one :-)
Pity it wasn't from the other side though - you'd have seen me peering out from 70K in the bubble :-)
