We are looking to book a flight out of Vancouver next year (post cruise) and have been given a couple of options.

Both are flying out of Vancouver with delta into Seattle. First option has connecting flight with virgin onto LHR but layover is only 1 hour.

Second option is Air France to CDG but layover is only 2 hours.

I have read that coming out of Vancouver you can do pre USA immigration which is great, but does anyone know if my bags will be checked through or if I will need to collect and re check in Seattle. Although I will be on 1 ticket I know you usually have to collect bags when connecting in USA between other countries.

I am just worried that 1 or 2 hours just won’t be enough time.

Anyone have any experience with this. Thanks in advance x

With pre-clearance, your bags will be checked through as you are effectively on US soil once you’ve cleared the CBP formalities at YVR.

When you arrive at SEA it will be as a domestic passenger. Even so a one hour connection on to VS is very tight so I’d be minded to choose the AF option.
