She will be starting LHR-MCO on the VS91 in December. No date confirmed yet.

A better look at G-VEVE

Great shot of her! When is she getting her flying icon?

Virgin themselves apply the flying lady icons so as soon as she is delivered she should get one

I didn’t think they did that anymore after DOT, RNB and TEA receiving them in Toulouse.

After the Airbus Summit it was announced that 2022 build A350s will feature the 787 dimmable windows, I suspect VS would take some A/C with this feature like around 2 or 3. Thoughts?

That’s a hard one because I don’t think virgin would want them to be different. As G-VBOB and G-VNVR are the only ones that haven’t had parts built yet I’m not sure what they will do because it seems odd for virgin to have that feature on only 2 of 12 in the fleet.

We don’t even know if the frame is completed as nobody has seen it

I think it will probably be another 4-6 weeks before G-VLIB is completed and I think test flights will start in January in time for delivery late March / early April.

Virgin Atlantic booking site now showing the LHR-MCO route for JAN-MAR being an A333.

What is going on? Is G-VEVE now delayed?

I don’t know what is going on. They normally have around ten test flights before delivery. I’m not sure how many G-VEVE has had yet.

I think there may be a chance of her delivery being delayed.

Concerned if they do switch to A350.

I'm on the A330-300 MCO-LHR later in December, and currently it is showing 25 passengers in UC. If they switch to A350 leisure then that comes down to only 16 available seats. What would they do then?

Its all getting a bit "musical planes" of late isn't it?

I am sure the regulars will chip in with "well they never guarantee seats its only preferred seating" etc but the reality is if you book a product then you expect to get that product.

Thats exactly how I feel with the switch from 350 to 787 on my next flight. Really not happy about that but also it just brings more doubt into the transaction. If they will swap things around at a whim then who knows what will happen next?

Just reminds me of the days of old when you turned up to the airport to find the aircraft with 300 seats had 320 pax...

They could potentially rotate a business and leisure a350 between Heathrow and Manchester on the winter Orlando flights were they do LHR-MCO-MAN-MCO-LHR and MAN-MCO-LHR-MCO-MAN in order to accommodate the flights with more upper booked.
