UC Pre order meals

Good afternoon fellow flyers! Does anyone know if pre ordering meals in UC has started. I’m returning to the Uk from USA in the next 10 days. I’m looking forward to experiencing the new A350 after many years of using the 747. Any info and advice gladly received.

Pre order is only available on ex UK departures

How do you order your meal ahead of the flight? We will be flying UC next week to Barbados and can only find pre-ordering for specials for religious or dietry needs. Is it available for pre-ordering the main menu?

If it’s available on your flight you should get an email a few days before, with a link to pre-order your main course from the main menu.

I never received the email to prebook on my recent flight (I did book direct), but I did manage to preselect instead by logging in at https://preselect.virginatlantic.com/gb/index.html

Pre order is only available on ex UK departures

Pre-pandemic, it was certainly available on some ex-USA routes too. I got the email for my return flight from MCO with the pre-order link back in November 2019. Of course, a lot has changed since then so it could only be ex-UK departures now.

For those interested attached are the pre select main meal options I received for my upcoming LHR-LAS flight;

For my May 11th VS3 flight, the email arrived on Sunday May 8th in the morning. Choices were the breaded chicken breast, fig and goats cheese tart, garlic and ginger prawns, chicken achari curry, paneer tawa masala and lamb saag. Chose chicken achari curry and it was good! The inflight options would have been the first 3 only.
