LHR gets a new VS ticket desk next week.

The present one is being converted into check in desks to improve check in times, the new desk will be located opposite check in.

Yes, it is a shame that one of the first things people often comment on, when using VS, is the length of the economy check ins at LHR and LGW. The staff ther do a great job shifting huge numbers of pax, so anything that helps them out is good.

Any idea how early it's best to get in to avoid the queues? I was in for 7.30am for my 12pm flight to Orlando last month (on a plane completely packed out with families, no seats available) and absolutely flew through the economy queue and passport control - there seemed to be no queue whatsoever.

Is this because the Virgin Atlantic flights to leave around midday so no-one's normally checks in about to check until 8-9am?? I recall going to SFO once and waited in line for about 90 mins as I got there later at about 8.30am!

Cheers
Rich

LGW often has around 5 flys departing everyday, usually before midday.

Many pax use the twilight check in where you can check in the night before to beat the queues, also check in opens around 5.30am so plenty of time to check in all those people!!
