New Aircraft for the Dubai route?

Hi can anyone tell me if the new routes are being served by "new to fleet" aircraft - what is the effect on aircraft use on exisiting routes - does this mean that more LHR 747 for example will end up on the LGW routes ?

My understanding is that the route starts out as an UCS A343 which will certainly not be new to the fleet and will then hopefully switch to an A346 in June or thereabouts. Schedules are of course subject to a lot of change both in the long term and from day to day in the short term. They may, for exmaple, decide to bring the introduction of the A346 forward due to some unforseen outside reason.

Hope this helps!

Cheers,VS045

DXB is currently scheduled for the A343, then switching to the A346 when there are more flights per week a little later in the year, although, if the loads are high then the A343 will be supplimented for the A346. I am currently on the VS400 on the 31st March - the current aircraft scheduled is the A343 ... but if loads carry on growing im hoping we may see the A346 :)

Thanks,
Sarah

Nope ... not just you [:I]

Not sure why i am so fussed, as we will be in Upper anyway, but from looking at the buckets for VS400 there doesnt seem to be any difficulty filling those seats in Y, so should be a real benefit to VS for switching the flight to an A346 ... but i guess we can only wait and see on the day!

Roll on DXB!!!!

Ah but what are the loads like on the return? I'm guessing that the first few flights are not going to have too many in the opposite direction.

Best of luck.

Good point, but we are still hoping.

Return flight on the 30th is looking good for the top two cabins but less well for Economy ... J0 D0 Z0 W0 S0 K0 Y7 B7 L7 M7 Q7 X7 N7

From a flight time point of view the 346 would be great as its much faster than the 343 butin terms of a dedicated service the 343 suite would be better

I would guess as if the flight is a 343 there is an outside chance of J2000 like my last BOM flight (must remember to write a TR this weekend)
