Well, I stumbled across this place a few weeks ago while preparing for a job interview for a head office role at Virgin.

I now have the job, having used some of the info I'd gained here to prepare, so thanks for the help!

Its been a few years since I've flown Virgin (J2000 seats and previous cabins) so i'm very excited about my first UCS trip.

Cheers guys!

LOL. I've been reading with interest the catering threads. Alot of the airlines I've flown with provide outstanding catering in Business class, lets hope the March change impresses everyone.

Mr role is fairly commercial, with some imput into product development, so its good to hear what customers think.

Especially as some of my earlier experience has included reviewing why 'customer feedback' (that lead to reduced Business class late night meal services) didn't meet customer expectations!

Im the Sales Director of a Contract Catering company and feedback in any business and even more particularly in a service business is absolutely invaluable - in fact its like gold dust. I wish we had a web site like this for our services - however we do us a comments book and we do respond and we do ACT!!!

I think that anyone at VS who needs to get customer feedback only needs to look here every week - this forum is made up ( in the main) of people who love VS and who go out of there way to fly with VS - therefore a comment made about something not being up to standard does not come as ill-informed or malicious - nor does it come that often from someone who has not flown with VS before.

I know that customer surveys are carried out on the aircraft themselves but the level of information provided by these must be counterbalanced by the number fo times someone uses the service.

The issue of food is without doubt a thorny subject - and whilst there are examples of airlines saving thousands by removing an olive or reducing a garnish the UC passenger is paying a significant premium for the seat and therefore any saving on food and service is simply going to have a detrimental effect and drive them away. Im not saying that VS does not want Y class passengers but there are obviously fewer customers who can afford to pay UCS prices - so losing these woudl cost the compnay more in the long term.

As I said earlier - welcome Ben and Good Luck - we are all ceratinly here to help you and give you whatever feedback you need to make OUR favourite airline better!!!

Oops, pressed "post" rather than "preview" and didn't mean to come across as just begging for an upgrade (thought I usually am... tacetly of course!)

What I was really meaning to say was congratulations V-Ben, I too am new to this site, but do find it a source of honest opinion which all in all still gives me good reason to choose VS whenever possible.

Cheers

Simon

Well done Ben. Will your school teachers let you have time off for your new job or is it just your user profile details that need updating?[?]

Hehe I was also 13 for a while. I guess like me, someone didn't follow the instructions closely enough!

Congratulations Ben. It's nice to see that we are finally getting Virgin staff that are open about their employer[:p] Does this mean that we may get a 'sanctioned' presence from head office ?
