V-Flyer

My g/f and I are looking to get hitched in June 07 in Las Vegas. We will be flying out with our immediate families so in total there will be 8 of us going.

We will all be flying economy, however my g/f and I will probably upgrade to PE as we have some miles to cover this. We were planning on booking all the flights together so we have everything in one place, but I was wondering as I will be doing the booking will I be able to claim the miles for ALL the people or is it per person?

No one else except from my g/f has a flying club card as they never fly so if we could get all of there miles instead this would be brill but I can't see anywhere if that is possible?

Sadly, you cant get the miles for your family's flights. Miles earnt go to the FC account holder only, although there are other options, such as introducing them to FC and recieving bonus miles on their first flight. This is known as MMF (Miles More Friends) - do a search on the forum to find out more or see here on the VS website.

You can earn 3000 miles for each person you introduce to FC that takes a qualifying Economy flight (Qualifying flights are: Y, B, L and M classes on all routes)

The only real way to earn miles on other peoples flying is to have them in your family account if you are FC Au (or have a FlyingCo account)

What about if Andy created a company, joined Flyingco and booked all of the seats using his company. Doesn't this achieve his goal?

No - see new T&C. The company would have to be a registered company. Where would this registered company get the money to buy the tickets? He'd then have to file annual accounts at Companies House etc etc. The cost would probably outweigh the benefit. Not allowed, as a result of the latest changes to the T's & C's.

Thanks for your help guys. Was worth a try and I suddenly saw a chance to get "lots" of miles but hey, don't get if you don't ask.

I think I'll just do what you said and recommend them all to flying club so for 6 people we could get 18000 miles which ain't bad.

In the case of getting referal miles - make sure the tickets you book are QUALIFYING fare classes. (Y/B/L etc). The cheapest economy (N/Q/X etc.) tickets will earn you nothing for referring them.

You'll also need a Y/B/L to upgrade with miles.

How would I check what ticket I'm getting if I bought via the Virgin Atlantic website?

and just to note,if im remembering correctly you will only get credit for the first 10 people refered.
