HI, yet another convert to your very informative forum.
I'm flying to MCO in Feb 05 with VS and want to stay overnight at LGW the night before and leave the car in the hotel carpark. Done this many times at LHR but not at LGW. Any recommendations?

No problem - don't forget to use the click through ads at the bottom of the page (e.g. Holiday Extras) so that VF.com benefits

:)

OK, quite like the idea of walking from hotel to terminal - Hilton & Le Meridian - and Le Meridian looks really nice. Next question is how easy will it be to lug 4 suitcases + family [xx(] from the hotel to the south terminal via the shuttle?

Can't help with the lugging question I'm afraid - I'm single, and if I'm flying from LGW, it's usually on business, so the company provide a taxi/chauffeur-type arrangement

But, if you're a
Le Meridien Moments member, the other bonus is that you can transfer up to half your points from them to FC

If lugging bags is a probelm in the busy morning rush, you may want to consider the LGW twilight check in. You can check the bags in at your leisure the night before and just keep overnight / hand luggage.

Twilight check in is 3pm - 9pm, so you may struggle.

Most of the web sites I have visited quote the same amount for the Le Meridien Hotel at LGW except for this site:
http://www.gatwick-hotel-accommodation.com which advertises rooms 20-30% cheaper.
Has anybody booked with them?

Hi! New Boy here!
Could any kind souls tell me if it is worth paying the extra to have an Executive room at the LGW Hilton. I will be staying there a week on Wednesday for the night before flying out to MCO, or is a standard room just fine? I have had bad experiences with hilton room standards in the past! Thanks for your help! The cheapest standard room I can lay my hands on at the mo is £120 - anyone know how to get it any cheaper??!!

The standard room is fine, TV, big bed and bathroom.
Not worth paying for an executive suite as you will only use it for sleeping in.
Iwould also suggest that for dinner you go into the airport, cheaper than the Hiltons
