Incident on VS05 from LHR to MIA - 3 May

Dear All

Thought I'd post this as it might interest people - the VS05 on Monday 3rd of May, that some of my colleagues were flying on out to Miami had to turn back and dump lots of fuel as the cabin was unable to be pressurised - apparently they stayed around 8000ft, dumped the fuel over the channel and landed again in LHR for the problem to be fixed.

Not sure how common this sort of thing is but I thought it might interest people.

Interestingly enough had they arrived on time they probably would have been diverted from MIA as a squall line was going through - another colleague flying from Toronto to MIA said that their landing was aborted about 30 seconds from landing and ended up being diverted to another airport in FL !

Cheers
Rich

Thanks for that Rich.

It has never happened to me, and given the topic about fuel costs I wouldn't think VS would be very happy about it:)

Better safe that sorry though.

Nick

The Miami bound aircraft was G-VHOT (Tubular Belle)

FWIW, G-VHOT was at LHR on Wednesday morning last week (My 5th). Pulled off the stand about 9am. Not sure where it was going as I couldn't be bothered to get out my timetable.

I flew HOT to LAX on Saturday 1/5. She was fine then!
