Using miles at Starwood hotels

Dear All

Just been scouring the rewards .pdf file and noticed that you can get air miles by staying at Starwood hotels - but can you transfer FC miles back to a Starwood account to buy hotel nights. The text seems to suggest that you can only convert Starwood to FC and not vice-versa.

Thanks for any information!
Rich

You can spend FC miles on Starwood hotel stays but I dont think that you can transfer FC miles to your Starwood account though.

See page 30 of the online pdf FC rewards guide. It says you need 35,000 - 150,000 miles. I dont know how you go about spending miles though or if the number of miles is per night [?] I would imagine you would just call FC and they book the hotel for you.

You can certainly use your FC points to book Starwood hotel nights - the details are listed in the spending section of the VS website, but I have never heard of a points transfer.

I would question if this is the best use of FC points as well:)

If airline miles were allowed to be transfered to hotel progams it would make transfering miles between 2 different airline programs far too easy so I guess this is why it is not allowed.

For example - I have 30,000 miles just sat in my Qantas FF account - but there's not much I can do with them especially if VS do get to fly to SYD, if only I could transfer them to say Starwood, then transfer them from Starwood to FC!!!!
