At the moment I have this picture as my desktop background (actually it's the one sixth up from the bottom but I couldn't get it to open). However, I think is all gonna change now![8D]

Hehe... well, part of it is because Javier is an A340 Flight Officer for Iberia - so he gets a good view out of big windows at the front of the plane and time (well, a few minutes anyway) to set up wonderful shots like this when he's lucky enough with flight paths and timing!

There's a number of pilots that are part of AirTeamImages, including "Bailey" who is a 777 pilot for (I believe) SQ.

Another AirTeamImages photographer did a nice pic of G-VBIG - http://www.airteamimages.com/display.php?phtID=17945

The brown streak underneath the fuselage isn't rust. It's most likely to be coffee or tea that has been poured down a galley drain, rather than into the toilet (some airlines - I believe BA are one of them - teach crews to throw stale coffee and tea into the loo).

The stain starts just where there is a galley drain mast, and the airflow "sucks" the fluid back on to the fuselage, hence the stain.

I also found a nice pic of G-VEIL over the approach lights by the In-N-Out near LAX - http://www.airteamimages.com/display.php?phtID=24524

Cheers!
Mike

I just found this one on their website too http://www.airteamimages.com/26246.html. Not as clear, but stunning none the less.

I think I need new glasses. I thought it was an A380 before I realised it...wasn't.

Then again, I can't tell the difference between an A319, A320 or A321.

This is my fav VS pic of all time,it has the look of a plane straight out of Die Hard 2 or one of the airport movies.

Mike - thanks for the Air Team link, have to say the images are of generally much higher quality there than on Airliners Net.

Cool

Dave will know what i meant, i have/had a desktop with a picture of a 744 but the name of the aircraft and the air-born date had been altered and replaced with my moniker and my birth date, my brother created it for me in Photoshop and i sent Dave a screenshot of it a while back.

So there you go - how sad am i! LOL

Thanks,
Sarah

Not exactly VS related, but my favourite Aviation desktop (bar the Birthday Girl livery pic) has to be this

There is just something amazing about practically seeing the break through sound barrier there!

Thanks,
Sarah

I think we're a bit sad really. We'll just have to put our anoraks on and keep our aviation-related thoughts to ourselves in public!;)

I had some visitors in the office today and did the old tour, introducing my team, and we happened to walk past my desk. I then had to suffer the slight embarrasment of answering the 'so you like Virgin planes?' question as my desk does look like a bit of a shrine with all my Gemini Jets models and various things i have acquired over the years [:I]

Top marks for nerd status today!!

Thanks,
Sarah

Ah, I have G-VBIG, coffee stains and all, on the big desktop machine, and this one of N174UA on the laptop: http://www.airliners.net/open.file/0938374/L/

Though I did have this picture of N187UA for a while, which I think you will agree is quite special as well: http://www.airliners.net/open.file/0981369/L/

Though South African did another one of their fantastic formation flypasts to celebrate joining Star Alliance this week:

http://www.airliners.net/open.file/1029821/M/

One photographer, Stephan Rossouw did some fantastic air-to-air shots from one of the "wing" A340s in the formation.

It's just a shame that they didn't have a nice day like when they did this flypast for Freedom Day.

Cheers,
Mike

Some great shots there Mike, thanks for the links although the air-to-air one doesn't come up with any pics? Perticularly liked the SAA fly past photo.
