Yes, you are not alone. We are all having problems. I have been told about 4 to 6 weeks, but the old card will be treated as valid.

my au status renewed 03/12/05 and i have yet to receive a new membership pack - my membership number has been changed since then on 2 separate occasions and according to vs that means a replacement pack is on its way to me...
the 'good' news is that my miles and tier points do still reach my account ok, and i have only 6 more tier points to get before my next renewal date (31/12/06)...
i wonder if royal mail are selling my packs on ebay to help pay adam crozier's bonuses... [:w]

...which is fine unless, like myself and the good Mr hamishbrown, you're number has been changed twice. So now I have a card which expired 5 months ago and has the wrong number on it. Not a lot of use really. I can get away with explaining the problem to VS staff but it's very awkward and, frankly, embarrassing to have to go through this with staff of partner airlines.
I have been told that new cards will be sent out this week but I've been told that several times over the last few months and I'm not holding my breath.

I spoke to the department that handle this function at VS last week, there have been a number of issues that are causing delays. The new cards have been a bit of a challenge to produce for the supplier, the image on the website doesn't do the card any justice. the letters are in a distinct foil effect. They are due to start shipping this week. I do feel sorry for them, as it sounds like its been an absolute nightmare for them.
All I can say is that you have views on it, post them here (constructively) as they will be taken onboard.
Thanks,
Richard

Richard, will the new design cards be sent out to all existing Au holders or just sent out on expiry of the old card?

As long as my miles and TP's reach my account I can live with a bit of a wait ....... my wife received her silver card (old style) a few weeks ago with a printed apology letter about the lack of tags !
Cheers

All existing golds will get it very soon, not just on renewal.
Thanks,
Richard

Just as a side issue to this thread and out of pure interest
How quickly in any membership year have any of you guys got your 30 TP's to renew and does anyone know the most TP's anyone has gathered in year (flying only VS not partners) ...... just curious to know

Regards
Mark

No worries on this end...as long as I have a number that coordinates with miles which has always been the case. On the other hand, it's always hard to toss the cards with the old numbers as they carry many sweet memories. Personally I think VS do a champion job of keeping miles current, card or no card--and I mean that. Not quite the same experience with certain of their arch competitors....

Is it just golds that willl get new cards or are VS sending out to all FC holders as part of the rebranding?

I'm not sure - I know when Freeway became FC, they sent out new cards. But there is a large expense in doing this.
Thanks,
Richard

It doesn't matter - all Au's are getting the new kit in the next two weeks, regardless of when their renewal date is.
James's card expired some time ago, I chased his pack for him.
Thanks,
Richard
