V-Flyer

I have been looking forward to seeing in due course the first VS A380. I know VS re-scheduled delivery until 2008. I have heard from a few industry sources recently that VS is having a re-think and that itis considering going for Boeings (?B748) instead of the A380. Has anyone heard anything?

There's been quite a bit of conversation about this in recent posts here and here.

If I may attempt to summarise, VS crew still believe they are coming, some others are sceptical given lack of recent public commitment to the plane and especially lack of comment on VS part when the A380 visited LHR.

Upshot, we don't know but officially nothing has changed and they're still on order ... though things may have moved on!

Thanks slinky09. I see that Airbus have announced today a 6-7 month delay in A380 deliveries after Singapore gets its first aircraft in November. Apparently they are having problems getting production up to speed. This could give VS a get out if they were so inclined. Thanks for the links. Having only just joined V-flyer I am still finding my way round and have not caught up with topics already covered.
