PE meals, drinks and other benefits

Hello All

Have booked myself and other half our first return flights in PE after 6 returns in Virgin cattle class.

LGW - MCO for November 2006 only paid a total of £991 total for both returns as one was a companion ticket (for £113) using some of my miles.

What are the main benefits of PE over cattle ?

Are the meals/drinks the same ?

I mainly booked PE for the extra space and a quieter cabin.

regards

Paul

Hi Paul, and welcome [y]

The main benefits are a quieter cabin (upstairs to MCO), and more info can be found on this page.

In terms of meals, they are the same as the economy ones but you should get first choice.

All the right reasons...

Added benefits are dedicated check in and you and your luggage are off the plane before Economy so you can be out of the airport on the hurry up.

Meals are the same as economy, and I've never had a problem getting my first choice meal. You also get offered a glass of Baileys or Brandy after your meal, which is a nice touch! You also get your glass of champagne when you board, again another nice touch. You also get a more 'personal touch' from the cabin crew, they seem to take more time and put more effort into everything. On our outbound trip two weeks and a bit ago, we were even addressed by name by the cabin crew the first time they came over to us on the drinks round! Very nice touch, first and only time thats happened though! The separate PE checkin, and bag off the place first (and you off the plane first as well of course!) also makes a difference to the whole 'experience' if you ask me. Also, if you've made you're booking after a certain date (April this year I think it was) you get a larger baggage allowance in PE.

Not that this is a big issue, but this in some way route dependent ? On the PE flights I've taken back from Vegas and Antigua no such service was offered. As I say, no biggie, just curious. Could, I guess, be down to the stocks having been depleted on the way out as reading other threads suggests..

p.s. the first time I flew VS to the USA the Baileys / Brandy was offered in Economy..

Leg room and quiet (fewer children) are indeed the main reason to fly PE.

In Y, surely you can still ask for brandy or bailey's after the dinner service, even if they do not walk around the cabin with a bottle.
