Advice from Cabin Crew

Hello
I plan to pursue a career as a member of cabin crew for long haul flights and would love some virgin crew to provide info on what they think of the job!:D I have flown with Vigin from LHR-EWR and was really impressed with the service and crew which helped me make my mind up that Virgin is the airline of preference.
I have looked on many sites for information which have helped but information from the horses mouth is always better! I am determined to pursue this career and would just love to know more as I find is soo exciting. Silly questions such as are suitcases provided as part of uniform, do you have to wear red lipstick to comply with uniform standards and what hairstyles are allowed and what is not. Ponytails: yes/no?? This will really help me with preperation.
I am 21 years old with 6 years face to face customer service experience and Maths and English qualifications so I have the experience needed. I just need to improve my swimming to make the grade!
Another question also: Sorry!!! [:I]
I am aware that the training lasts approx 6 weeks. Does your salary start then or do you start getting paid once you fly? Also is accomodation provided or do you have to pay for your own?
I fully appreciate any replies. I am trying to see what further preperations I need to make before applying!
Cheers! x [y]
