Help on deciding a destination for late August

I am planning on flying with VS for a trip away in late August for about 7-10 days. I want a quiet/low pax numbers flight in upper class. I like beaches and cities, but I don't really just want an all-beach holiday.
Any suggestions?

Go to the Virgin Holidays site and have a good look through what they have - then you can either book with them or with VS!!

Bit biased on this one as I'm off there myself.
California flydrive, fly into LA then drive north up Highway 1 and stop wherever you want, Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, even up as far as Carmel (then you could fly back from San Francisco)
Can't say what the Pax No's in UC would be like but I'd imagine they'd be pretty full at that time of year, but if you're in UC that shouldn't be a prob

In Y, I can understand: whole row to yourself, etc. But in J, you're in your own suite anyway. The only time I've noticed the difference is when I was literally the only person in the B section downstairs - but that was just funny during the safety briefing.
Other than that, whether there are 4 or 40 other passengers, the crew are there to look after you - so why the need for an empty cabin?

Hows about DBX - a few beaches but loads to see and do. Travel down to the springs in Al Ain, see the dunes in the desert, visit Muscat maybe, and call in in Abu Dhabi at the world's most expensive hotel (so the Emirates Palace say - so don't blame me if someone knows one more expensive!)

Yeah, I would be going standby in upper class that's why I ask about in your experience what the quietest UC flights are in late August.

Well Dubai will probably be quiet - main reason being that is it so damn hot out there!

The others being the incessant construction work everywhere (beach and city)and the complete traffic gridlock around the city centre for most of the time[}:)].Great place for a few days away though.
How about East coast of USA -cities (Boston or NY) and coastline too?

Good suggestion - the coast of Mass and Rhode Island is beautiful, Newport a fantastic place to visit, you could do some sailing, eat fantastically, stay in wonderful and usually smaller guest houses and hotels, visit Provincetown if you're pink minded, and spend a few days in Boston.
Alternatively, when is the Chicago flight starting, loads might be low and Chicago has fab beaches (really) and is a great city.
