Strange rituals before flying

Just wondering if anyone has any strange superstitions or rituals (and I don't mean killing chickens or anything) before boarding a flight. I don't know why but I always touch the outside of the aircraft just as I am about to enter into the cabin[:?] Makes me feel better anyway[:I]

I always kiss my right hand and touch the outside of the aircraft as I enter. When I visited the grounded Concorde at Filton, I even did it then!

I always pray for an upgrade.

I always look for the aircraft registration (even though I don't keep a record of it - I am NOT a plane spotter!) and then touch the metal on the way in.

Don`t know when it started but i seem to do this everytime i fly, and i`m not a nervous flyer at all, love the whole experience.

I have to wave goodbye to the place i`ve just left right after take off, not a full blown wild wave but more of a little wave out the nearest window!

I too always touch the airplane before I leave. I always need to know the reg and from the very fisrt day I started flying as crew there is one item in my bag that I never take out and never will.

The only thing I do is make sure I have as little as possible to carry on the plane, much to my partners disdain, lol.

My partners glitch is the dreaded "bagcheck" he chooses a flightbag with the biggest possible number of compartments and "checks" it every 5 minutes sits there hugging it and the closer it gets to boarding the time between each check goes down to 30 seconds I think, only God knows where something might have dissapeared to 30 seconds before.

then when we are called to board he stops and fumbles around trying to remember which compartment the passports are in[:o)]

Not really a ritual, but I do always buy a large bar of cadbury's mint chocolate at World News before flying- although I might wait a while after the whole salmonella thing;)

Funny how the "touching the metal" thing is fairly common - I do that too...

Is that because you've had one too many in the clubhouse Michael, and it's the closest thing to hold on to after the handrails stop to support yourself? [}:)]

Should that not be "paw"?

Clean underpants are always vital in case we have an accident!

Other than that, a haircut of course.

Techincally, yes. But I don't often go out in my dog persona in public. [}:)]
