Just done OLCI - Virgin website says have passport number ready but I wasn't asked for mine but I received a printout saying that OLCI was successful - is this right?

Thanks in advance for replies.

Hi PS100
We used OLCI Mon 26th June for our flight to Miami Tuesday 27th June. As far as I can recall, when it says that the check-in has been completed successfully, that is it. If you have completed the API in advance then the information is already held.
When you check-in for your flight, make sure you go to 'baggage drop' not 'DIY check-in'.It can be an easy mistake to make.
On your return journey,if you are flying home from The States, if you check-in on-line, there is a line to complete that says words to the effect 'Permanment Residents Number', enter your passport no. here & then the next line ( I think) says expiry date., enter the expiry date of your passport. It worked fine for the four of us & we had 3 different booking reference numbers.
Have a safe flight, Roxy-Popsy.

Thanks Roxy-Popsy for taking the time to reply. We are not flying to the States so haven't filled out any API so they do not have my passport number already which why I was a bit concerned. Never mind still I intend to arrive early so will ask at check-in.

If the destination does not require API, then it will not require your passport details in advance. I flew to HKG and did OLCI and it did not require passport details, and still had an easy time of it when arriving at LHR.

The only destinations where you would need to type in your passport details are any US destination, PVG and any South African destination.
