I see today the Air Transport Users Council (AUC) released its' annual figures for 2005/2006
With over 6,000 written complaints and 3,755 from the phone thats almost 10,000 in a year. This equates to about 28 per day and thats to the "Official Body". I wonder how many the airlines are receiving?

However, it does say that with changes to EU regulations it is now easier to complain, hence the rise in these figures.

I reckon that a sizeable portion of that figure is v-flyer members;)

Perhaps the total could be decreased by VS bringing back red cushions/flowers/proper UC kits/second Y meal on selected routes...(etc)...[}:)]

Only if the complainants have been hiding them within complaints about cancellations and delays that contributed about 75% of the increase. Unfortunately the report gives no breakdown by carrier.
