On the flight he may have been - but not in UCS? - I find that hard to believe!!

No doubt that was a bucket shop fare for economy and then an upgrade....

mmmm - think he must of been in UCS, find it very strange that he would fly PE (but then again nothing that man does surprises me anymore[:w])

Well he was originally booked to go a few days ago and had to update his booking while Cherie and the kids went on without him.

Maybe there was no availability in UC[:0].

Reminds of that thread about who you would most/least like to be sat next to on a flight - I guess someone drew the short straw. :)

I also notice that both he and SRB were in LA a week or so ago - maybe the conversation included the possibility of an upgrade.

Seeing as he isn't paying for the accom (he's staying with Cliff) you'd think he'd splash out and upgrade himself huh?! Even if he does pay, I assume we pay for his protection officers to join him?

[:?] me thinks that if we venture down this route it could become a very long/heatly discussed thread, I think politics are best left aside as we enter V-Flyer:D

I like him actually and imho like or dislike him a prime minister who ever it may be should be referred to as Mr or Mrs whoever.not Blair or Thatcher.

If people actually learned about the world looking at facts instead of parroting tabloids this country might be a little more respectful.

Political discussion is a VERY dodgy area, given V-Flyer's absolute ban on posts that would be classed as personal insults. Please bear this in mind as the debate continues. [8D][}:)]

Just because we do not refer to him as Mr, does not mean people (myself included) do not know about Uk/European or World issue in any depth, a strange/unfair comment i feel.

I always believe that respect should be earned and just because a certain person is PM should not automatically mean we have to respect them, especially if many of our core views/values and principals are very very different.

I knew this would happen if we started on politics....

not unfair at all, the tabloids always disrespectfully refer to a politician only by their surname once they get in to office and everyone else follows suit. Its rude.

We wouldn't like it ourselves.

The guy has made some crappy decisions, but has also done some very good things for this country.

People who show disrespect for another person based on differences of opinion don't deserve respect from anyone themselves.

I think it's highly likely that if it wasn't for our tabloids, Blair would have been off enjoying Cliff's wine a lot sooner.

Fair point. Certainly we should rise above it on this site. Feeling suitably chastised, and have thus deleted post.

Maybe we should talk about the colour scheme in Y.

EGG, I think it best left as "agree to disagree". I feel your last comment was uncalled for but accept that is your p.o.v, something you are more then entitled to have.

I wasn't making a party political statement, it was even a gripe of mine when people used to say Thatcher instead of Mrs Thatcher or the Prime Minister,

Politicians have names and are human just like us and needn't be subject to ridicule, though with Mr Prescott I know thats dificult, lol

Now that is something we can agree on... although as one of the (un)lucky ones to have Mr Prescott as my local MP I shall say no more on the matter[:w]

Personally I think our heads of state for whatever party is in power should fly upper or have a private jet.

And I think the queen should be given her royal ship back as well.

As long as not paid for by us Tax payers then fine, party in power is irrelevant

Imo, this was one of the most beautiful ships ever built. And to add to that, I understand it is also full of happy memories. I think it is a crying shame to see it as a tourist attraction tucked away on her own in Leith. We have a magical maritime heritage, but is is spread around the country, Bristol, Portsmouth, Greenwich, Chatham and Leith. It would be wonderful for the Royal family to have a state ship, but probably not that practical. On the other hand how fantastic it would be to have a maritime centre at, say, Greenwich, to include Victory, Warrior, Gannet, Cutty Sark, Great Britain, Golden Hynde (Although a replica) and Britania all together; maybe Thomas too. You will no doubt find it odd, but I visit Victory regularly. And I still have a lump in my throat to think of the heroic men, several of whom were ridiculed in their day, who sailed her. On their shoulders we stand.

And what about the colour scheme in Y?
