Partner flights question

I have to travel to New York again in October for business, and have enough miles for a partner flight for my wife in PE. The query is how easy is it to sort out this type of booking? I have to use our corporate agent (i.e. not Virgin Atlantic) to make the booking for myself, but could they deal with the FC partner flight or do I have to co-ordinate the booking by ringing the FC line? The agent issues an e-ticket instantly, and it's on the VA site almost at once. Does this mean they could deal with Airmiles as well? (Tickets are always W class).

I did this last year. I first checked with FC if there were reward seats available on the flight I wanted. Then I made the booking with my corporate travel agent. Get the booking reference from them, then call FC again to book the partner flight. FC should be able to make sure you sit together if you are in the same cabin.

One other pointer - my travel agent told me that some hotels in NY charge more for 2 people in a room. Either be prepared to be discrete when you check in or find a hotel that doesn't!

Hope this helps. Have a good trip.
