Worth It?

Hello,
I have booked an Upper Class flight from Boston, however, the other day I realized that this route does not have the new Suite.

I was wondering if you thought it worth it to pay the 200 dollar change fee to fly out of the New York (in addition to paying the change fee I would have to take a 3 hour train to NYC from Boston, added time and another 100 dollars).

Any input is greatly appreciated!

Thanks again.

How often do you fly? How likely are you to fly to NY another time? Can you afford USD300 and three hours? Don't forget you'll also have to get back out to JFK.

Personally I would say no, as J2000 is a good seat (better than BA-CW even if it's not "flat"). If you fly regularly, then you've got more chances to fly suite in the future. If you don't, then J2000, plus lounges, the freedom menu, good IFE (Odyssey or V:Port, depending on luck) and (depending on your fare code) cars is a pretty good package to be going on with.

I have flown the old UC before, so that is why I wanted to try something new...

Any other suggestions?

Also, how long does it take to get to JFK from Penn Station, random question, but curious!

Thanks again!

Getting to Penn from JFK takes anywhere from 50 mins to 2 hours depending on the time. If it's 10-4pm, it takes about an hour in a cab, between 4-7pm it can take much longer (the Van Wyck Expressway is notoriously bad).

My recommendation is to take the new Air Train from the Terminal to the subway, and then subway it all the way to Penn. It's faster than a cab in rushour and costs $7 rather than $60 (the Taxi fares went up in NY recently, the flat fare to manhattan is $45, plus $4 for the tunnel toll + tip...)

Or just fly to Boston :D

Thanks for all of the help!

I think that I am just going to fly out of Boston...

NYC sounds like a lot of trouble!

Okay, I will keep you updated!

Good choice re Boston. I just loved the UC suite, but I wouldn't add a connection or serious ground travel to make it happen. Who knows, maybe VS will even surprise you with a suite out of BOS.
