First timer here:) I have bought e-tickets to USA via a travel agent but when they booked the tickets they put me down as a Mr rather than a Mrs[:(] The agent rang Virgin to try to get ticket changed but they said it would be ok as it was the name that was inportant not the title. I am still worried though. Has anyone else had this problem?

I've been checked in as a Mrs instead of a Mr before (no jokes, thank you [ii]) - and it was no problem.
And welcome [y]

Did you get patted down by a female officer too, after insisting you were a Mrs, it says so on the ticket [:0]

Hahah. I normally pick some of the random titles. American Airlines prints the title on the boarding card so it is great fun. "Lord Benjamin P. Kozlowski Jr. III DD" Good stuff...

""DD" ?!? - That's what the captain writes in the crew manifest when a person is lost - ie Discharged Dead."

Jeremy: DD is Doctor of Divinity in this case. In a more social sense, DD means designated driver. I commonly am the DD...

Worry not Alfredo. The present Mrs Treelo flew to Boston earlier this year as a 'Mr'. Not literally, you understand, its just that the pillock ([:I]) who booked the seats had finger trouble whilst doing so. They did let her/him come back as a 'Mrs' though

Thanks for the replies:) seems I am not the only one, just wondering how it will affect checking in online and filling in API? Will it cause me problems? Sorry to prattle on about it, so cross with TA[:(] will definitely do it all myself next time:D

Didn't cause the present Mr/Mrs Treelo any problems with API. BTW you can action API requirements prior to using OLCI. The 'manage my booking' facility leads you to API screens, so your details can be input and forgotten until you fly.

hey dont be too tough on your ta i booked direct with virgin and they got my sons name totally wrong , gave him a different surname
it took 11 phone calls and from jan when we booked till last month to get new tickets issued for him
definitly not the service we expected from virgin especially as we are traveling uc i had expected to be treated a little better
on the up side i did manage to get 6,000 miles added to my flying account as compensation !!!!
but only after i asked for something
