Hi
How strict are the Escape Lounge at Manchester airport for childrens ages. Looking to use them, but my daughter is 7 year and 10 months old.
Would this be a problem? She looks older as she's tall for her age.
Cheers in advance.

Hmmm well I guess its down to how picky they are on the day. The rules state no children under 8, so by the rules she shouldn't be allowed in, but...I guess it depends if they have your info before you arrived which might include your ages and if they ask to see any proof of age.
All you can really do it try and hope for the best, I personally don't see why she shouldn't be allowed in but maybe I'm just too nice:D.
Hope it all works out for you ok
Neil:)

Depends, if you are flying upper class you can then take children into the escape lounge younger than 8, we did in August this year though we were worried about this before we flew so sent an email to Virgin just so we had something in writing.
Our son was 20 months at the time.

You'll be fine in the Escape Lounge.... the page for this lounge on the Manchester Airport website clearly states;
"Children under the age of 8 yrs are only permitted by invitation of the airline and must be travelling first/business class tickets" - so as long as you are flying UC or have a Gold FC card there should be no problem.

Does anyone know if the Escape Lounge has WiFi internet access? I've looked on the Manchester airport website & it states there is internet access in the "business zone" of the lounge, but no mention of whether it's wireless or using the lounge's own PC's.
I know I am OK for the return journey in the Delta Crown Room at Orlando, as I read someones TR on this site that stated there was free WiFi there.
Thanks
James

No Wifi when I was last there. They have their PC's that you can use.

This may have changed since the start of the year though.

There is no reason why you should not be able to have your kids in the lounge if you have paid a UC ticket otherwise whats the point

I'm in the Escape lounge now using one of the 2 laptops available for general use. However, it appears that the lounge is now equiped as a T Mobile Hotspot for WiFi access. Online passes start at £5 for 1 hour.
Hope that helps

Thanks for the info - I think I'll do what you did and use one or the lounge's laptops / desktop PC's. I'm not paying a fiver to check my emails! Hope you have a good flight.
Thanks

Hi All,
Sorry to labor a point here, but I fly to Orlando next October and we are all going UC. Will the check in issue us with a lounge pass, or should we contact Virgin in advance ourselves?
I don't know if we'd have time to use the lounge, but it may be a have for a few minutes once we've shopped.
Any and all info on this and UC in general (I've not flown UC before so I don't really know what to expect) will be welcome.
Thanks,
Andy

I've not travelled UC yet, but 3 weeks tomorrow I will put that right - from Manchester too. (I will do a TR of the "UC experience" too).
From TR's I've read on here, the pass / invite for Clubhouse or Lounge access is issued at check-in. (This would put VS in line with other airlines I've been on in J class). I guess the only people who have to show their credentials "at the door" of the lounge are ones who are travelling in Y, but are using their FC Gold card to get lounge access - but ISTBC on this one.
Thanks
James

Yes you will be issued a lounge pass by Upper Class check-in at LGW, and again on the way back at MCO. The lounge invites at LHR/LGW have directions to the lounge on them too.
At LHR they can have a tendency to forget to give them to you however ...

Thanks,
Sarah
