Slightly miffed with VS ... and data protection

I took a short notice flight back from Mumbai recently, booked the day before over the telephone. I was told an eticket would come but it didn't, however I managed to check-in online and took a print-out of that to the check-in and that was OK.

Now I need to claim my expenses but I have no ticket and no receipt ... so I email customer services (a week passes and no response, so 'service' is oxymoronic here). Then call FC Gold thinking, oh they can just email it to me. Oh no, I have to write, enclose passport photocopy, lots of detail etc. and then sign it. All in the name of data protection.

Well what poppyc**k ... why can't they just email it out to the same address as used on the reservation initially!

As you can see, I find bureaucracy stifling and boring ... [n] ... anyone come across the same?

I think the biggest problem with VS is that everything inbetween booking and flying seems to be done manually and nothing seems integrated. Their systems do seem to lack a lot of what other airlines can do. This is probably the reason why errors creap in and simple requests like asking for another e-ticket take such a long time to do.

I agree. When my hard drive died and I realised I hadn't printed off my e-tickets, the ones from Aer Lingus came through while I was still talking to the agent while with VS I was told it could take up to 8 hours
