From what i've been reading here we should get the new menu flying PE in a fortnight. Does anyone know if the kids meals have changed or is it still 'chicken' teddies outbound?

I've already ordered kids meals but I think the girls would prefer sausage and mash or chicken tikka if their menu's not changed. Am I able to take the kids meals off my booking online [:?] Thanks.

If it's not chicken teddies, I'm sure it will be some other evil mystery-meat product.[}:)]

I've never had to order/change a special meal with VS, but on other carriers changes were done by phone. If I were you I'd give them a call - twice. Once to do it, once to check it was done 4 days later. Maybe once more 2 days before the flight. VS would love to change that meal for your daughters - those meals cost a lot more than the standard meals!

Trust me, your daughters will be very grateful you called, as well - from what I've heard from disappointed kids and the parents sharing their own meals to avoid hungry kids, the kids' meals are dire[:$]. And, once a special meal is loaded on the plane, that's what they'll serve you. Someone has to eat it - let it not be you or yours!

My sons never eat the kids meals on Virgin planes, they do not like what they contain.

Are the meals the same for kids in UC?

I understand that they are the same meal, just plated up on Upper china.

On my recent flight coming back from BOS, one of the crew said that the new Premium Economy kids meals looked different. Still supposedly "kid-friendly" things like spaghetti and meatballs, but delivered from the caterer in the new PE crockery, and as part of a PE place setting.

Cheers,
Mike

In my experience, my children prefer to eat what we have and we never order "kid's meals" on flights on any airline. I can't understand why there is this assumption that children only like sausages, fish fingers, fried things and baked beans. If you feed them that all the time, they will never develop a wide range of tastes...
