The PE Sale fare page doesn't appear to have been updated either, as I am seeing lower fares in ExpertFlyer and on the VS site when making a booking.

Are pax numbers down this year or something? I was surprised to see I'm all alone in PE for both my March flights. My two previous March trips seemed to fill up a lot quicker than this. With luck it'll stay empty. [}:)]

That's great - but while the upgrade price to New York is only £150 each way, the same PE upgrade to SF is an extra £358.50 each way.

If you're not going to New York (specifically on the VS25/26), Chicago, Montego Bay or Nassau, you'll be paying full whack for PE.


(£991 in total for PE, over a saturday night, at the end of January to San Francisco is NOT good value in my book - especially in a "sale" period)

VS need to sort out their booking engine. It's cheaper to book a PE trip to NYC (£576) than it is to select upgrade to PE at the end of the Economy choice (£624), for the same flights [:?]

what dates and flight are you getting the difference happening?

I think that pretty much covers it - Sarah and I discovered a rather annoying issue with the booking engine yesterday that I am waiting for fares/e-commerce to resolve. Showing over 36 options, when only 1 is truly valid for the fare quoted. Not amused at all.

Hi everyone, this is my first posting here. For a long time I've been thinking of visiting NYC for the first time ever. The problem is that I'm sure I couldn't face the journey in Economy so I'd have to go in PE but prices are normally beyond my budget.

I did a search with this latest sale and a price of £560 came up with the times and dates I wanted! (VS045 & 046 out 17/4, back 24/4.) But when I hit the Book Now button the price quoted had gone up to £610. I tried other dates and times but similar things happened.

Now I know that £610 is still a good price but I'd had my appetite whetted by £560! Is this a glitch? If so, who can I report it to? Or is it a delibrate ploy by Virgin to tempt me to book at £610? If so, then I'm very sorry but I'm going to say "Thanks but no thanks". [:(]

I am sure it isn't a ploy. [8D];)

Having said that, as Richard has said above, there is no longer any incentive to book online. The days of online booking discounts went several months ago.

I always do the same, I search around on the net to get the cheapest price and then ring the Flying Club. Without exception the FC agents I have spoken to have been very helpful and, when I explain I already have a price, they have always matched - or on one occasion - beaten it. I appreciate that I may just have been lucky, and am not guaranteeing that you are certain to have the same experience, but it is worth giving it a go.

That's the exact problem I had - those fares should only apply for the VS25/26 route sectors, yet the tool is showing the fare for all NYC sectors hence the annoyance. It has been reported to VS.
