Daily Telegraph story.Sir Richard Branson's Virgin Group has emerged as a surprise bidder in the £500m - £600m auction of First Choice's "mainstream" package holiday division............
I assume this wouldn't include the airline division?

Only problem is - they'd have to remove all those adverts for "extra legroom in economy" while they're ramming extra seats in...

A bit ironic seeing as though First Choice bought Virgin Sun a couple years ago.

Not being in the world of UC I have to say that the First Choice Star Class Premier service was the best flight I have ever been on. The econamy section looked excellent also. It would be a shame if this was to suffer.

It is reported in the Financial Times this morning that VH have pulled out of the bidding. This apparently leaves the way clear for MyTravel or Thomas Cook.
