There's a letter in today's i-Fly with someone asking Virgin about a possible destination to Croatia or somewhere. Got me thinking....
Where would you want Virgin to Fly to?
My top 3 are:
1) Vancouver (with the 2010 winter omlympics coming up)
2) Rio (or some other lovely south american city)
3) Houston / Austin / Dallas
Just my two penneth!

This is one of our more common debates, but we haven't had it for a while, and it is always interesting -so I won't interfere.
This thread gives an idea of some previous suggestions, but there are a fair few more threads. [8D]

Ahhh.... Out comes the begging bowl for a service to South America yet again...
My vote goes to any of these -
GIG
EZE
GRU
SCL
Wouldn't mind a VS seat to the following also (Getting a touch greedy now...[8D])
BKK
CAI - Wait for the twin engined metal to arrive 1st....[:?]
ICN
Y.. - Anything Canadian....

Toronto. (Well, ideally, Montreal - but it'll do...)

I like the idea of a South American destination - preferably before we do out Great Escapade, next year.[8D]
Vancouver is #1 though. (With Seattle as a second best option).

Was quaint to see the predictions in there. Chicago made it but no Toronto!!!! Interesting reading!

Somebody always throws ICN (Seoul) into this debate, And whilst it would suit me right now, and BA don't fly here, it really would only be a business travel route.
Seoul and Korea are not really set up for foreign tourists, and they really are a rare sight. Most foreigners here fall into five categories - US military, English Teachers, Long Term business travellers, short term business travellers, tourists who have been everywhere else!
And whilst ICN is selling itself as an East Asian hub, and will be a super efficient gateway to the Beijing Olympics, it isn't really on the way to anywhere else from Europe the VS don't already serve.
Now PEK, that's a different matter... Bring it on [^] - and through ticket me to Nanjing on the same booking, to save me the train journey from Shanghai.

SGN.
Only 2 European airlines fly there - Air France and Lufthansa and it is a growing and rapidly developing marking for both leisure and business.
Chicago probably satisfies my hankering for a mid-west destination and I agree that it would be nice to see Vancouver to provide a North West destination and give the Evil Empire a bit more competition.

ICN always seems to make this debate although now that both Asiana and Korean are on the route (and taking all skyteam and star members) I doubt it greatly. Ashame as 4 years ago no one operated the route.
Rio will come with time- they have the rights its just a waiting game.
YYZ will be back- heard a cheeky rumour it will be announced very soon.
IAH- I am surprised it hasnt started yet but with VK wanting a direct route from LOS I see no reason for it now.
I wonder if we will see more China flights considering the news over the weekend of the first Virgin Casino in Macau. Perhaps a LGW-MFM- now that would be fantastic- but real dream world stuff!

Milton Keynes is already served extensively by numerous Virgin Trains, Virgin Buses, Virgin Mobile, Virgin Money, Virgin Cola, Virgin Balloons... the list is long and glamorous.
In fact Mr Branson has got my favourite route of CMK-PVG totally sewn up, except perhaps the walk from the Heathrow Bus station to Terminal 3.

I would like to see:
Toronto Bangkok Alicante (for Benidorm, and ideally from Birmingham) [:p]
Can people actually write the Airport names, I think we all know the likes of BKK, PEK etc, but some codes are just obscure to all but local residents and regular flyers there.
Sorry, I'm just too lazy to keep going to the Airport codes page [|)]

For me it will be...
Tampa Seattle Vancouver Brisbane Las Palmas (for Puerto Rico and to give competition to the charters and preferably from MAN)
However I would like to see this over any of the above...
MORE MANCHESTER FLIGHTS

The train journey between the two is both cheap and fantastic. Paid $12 single the last time I did it, plugged my headphones into the chair and watched 'it's a wonderful life.... With the carriage to myself!

I would love to see LHR - Denver. Heck, I'd even take LGW - Denver, though LHR is a lot closer for me.
My ILs live there so we must visit often and it would sure beat my current options of flying BA or flying through EWR and changing to a CO domestic flight.

In order for VS to fly to DEN it would need to fly through LGW unless BA stops flying it. It's one of the cities covered under Bermuda II that only allows one airline from either country to fly DEN-LHR.

Ahh...I did not know that...thanks for the info. But, as I said, I'd take LGW - DEN!

BKK would be great as well as Singaapore - I know SIA etc but it still would be great to be able to fly VS there. Also more direct flights from anywhere but Heathrow please .
