It seems VS credit FC miles and TP within day(s) of flying..
I wondered if anyone has experience of the time it takes for partner miles to be credited? (I realise they are credited retrospectively to match the flight date..)
Mostly interested in SQ as flying to SYD with them in August..

I had Continental miles and TP credited within a few days of flying (I'd given my FC number when I booked). American West points, where I couldn't give my FC number at the time of booking, were only credited after I sent my tickets and boarding pass in to VS.

I have just got back from holiday (Trip report will be here when i get the chance...)
As you say, Virgin was next day. Flew America West, the first leg of my journey SFO-LAS was credited within a few days, the second leg LAS-JFK hasnt been credited after a week now. Will hold out a bit longer before contacting FC..
While im talking points etc.. Does anyone remember if there was an offer in i-fly earlier this year that was for double points at a le meridien hotel if booked on the "weekend" rate? I could have sworn there was so I booked the hotel in NYC. When i checked in they told me that they dont award miles on that rate, let alone any double miles promotion.

Please don't get me started on this topic....
If there is one thign that lets FC down is the time and effort it takes to get partner activity credited to your account - some of it works well and some is abysmal. My record time for activity to arrive is one year, stay at a hotel March 2002, credited March 2003.
I feel sorry for the team at VS as its such a nightmare - I have spent hours sending 100+ page faxes to VS with boarding pasess and hotel receipts for them to chase. All of them with my Fc nubmer on the invoice.
The point to remember is that the system rely upon the partner systems passing the data over correctly and in a timely manner - there are partners in the apst that have sent the info over on a floppy disk to VS at the end of a month, I kid you not.
The usual lead time is 4-6 weeks for the partner activity to hit your account, though some are quicker. My UK Hilton stays have normally appeared within a week.
Thanks,
Richard

As far as Am West are concerned, I would be tempted to send copies of my boarding passes if I the points haven't appeared in a couple of weeks.
It depend how urgent you need the points, as Richard has said partner points are a problem. Having said that, I have always got my credits eventually.

I take it back, ive just logged on to FC to check and Am West have credited the second journey. Taken on the 27th and credited on the 5th. 9 Days in total then. Can't complain about that.
Hilton UK stays are also normally quick, but i'm still waiting on a stay completed on the 19th June. Should be here soon, nearly enough miles for a UC reward!

Not quite as bad as RM's but I got a credit of 1500 miles for a Millennium + Copthorne stay on December 8th 2003... My stay was Jan 3rd!!!

(That was without any chasing or probing)
As of yesterday my 1k for a US Hilton stay completed on June 18th still havent come through either... [}:)]

Johnathan,
I flew SQ to NZ over Christmas, miles were credited to VS account within a couple of weeks of each flight.

Starwood are good at transfering points twice to my FC account as this has happened on more than one occassion now.
Transfer times are now a lot better than they used to be as far as I'm concered. BMI and A/West used to take months and I always had to send in my boarding cards. This years transfers were all done in under two weeks.
