Now you can buy miles I am now led to believe by VFC that I cant give my other half some of my miles for redemption.
Is this correct? If so its a bit[V]
Thanks in Advance.

You never could "give" miles to anyone (unless, technically, as a child on a Gold account)
But you can use your miles to get a one-way flight "paid" for on their behalf - and therefore half of a full redemption. This has always been the case, and I believe still so.

Sorry?
My Husband and I have shared miles in equal proprtions to get the seats we wanted. I understand I cant just give miles to an unrelated person as it were.
Sounds like a scam to me to get you to buy miles!

Yes, that's what I said (but maybe didn't make it clear).
Return flight redemptions are actually calculated as 2 x one ways, and each one-way sector can be "paid" for with anyone's miles.
Example:
Upper Class return = 100k miles.
ACTUALLY made up of 50k one ways x 2
You can "pay" for this in 3 ways:
1) Full 100k from one account
2) 50k from yours, 50k from person altogether's (with permission)
3) 50k from another person altogether (with permission), 50k from another person also
You cannot (and could not ever) "give" miles. Effectively, someone is "paying" for the one-way reward.
