Knowing what LHR clubhouse will offer, how about HKG? Do they offer hot food, drinks etc? What else do they offer?

Tell me all about it.

They have a small finger buffet, some hot food on order from the menu - I had their Club Sandwich. It was very yummy!! Fantastic bar, nice balcony over looking the rest of departures, some internet terminals, a TV & games area and hot showers.

The HKG CH is airside and located next to the 2 gates that VS use at HKG.

The bar is well stocked and service is usually prompt based on my experience. The CH has a menu with hot food and snacks on offer.

The CH has shower facilities, a business area and I think it has a couple of TV's. (At least one anyway!)

You can sit outside the enclosed area on a balcony, this provides you with views of VS's gate area and across the rest of the terminal.

Here's a couple of pics I snapped on one of my visits....:D

Is it really wrong to enjoy standing at the balcony looking out from the lounge just so that others can see you in there?

Hell NO! [y]

Is the lounge like the JFK, open air and not enclosed the LHR? If it is open air, I will be giving the poor people a wave! [}:)]

The problem is I will be the one standing outside looking in. Father is in UC (my treat), mother and I are in Y. So I guess I'm letting mother in the CH as guest leaving me behind. I can now tell them what to expect in there and I will just wait outside at the gate [:#].

Oh bummer! You could always ask at the reception, to see if they could let you in? It might be worth a try? Or see if a fellow V-Flyer will be there at the same time? When you are you travelling?

Or you can stand below and have them lower a nice G&T and other titbits to you. Just make they have a basket and a length of rope. [:w]

Yes, I too was surprised at how small it was but it is well planned and broken up into small areas so it never looks crowded
