Haircuts in LHR Clubhouse

The good lady wife is thinking about an early morning haircut on Saturday morning. Anyone had any good / bad experiences of this? Also, as we fly at 0930, can you get a hair cut that early?

Finally, if she booked and then cancelled, is there any penalty? (eg. being downgraded to economy perhaps[}:)]

I would recommend calling the clubhouse and asking the cowshed salon your questions about timing. No cancel penalty, but it is good manners to let them know if you cannot make it so someone else could have the slot, on the day, as it were. Enjoy!!

My experience is that they're pretty good - but I am a bloke so wouldn't presume about ladies [8D]

Wonder if VS could add something to the fare rules about not giving showing up for your haircut?[?]

And what would happen when people would turn up for their appointed time only to find that the Clubhouse is saying that there is no record of the booking or else that the time they have is different?

All good experiences from me (and Mr DL):).All the staff are Bumble and Bumble trained and my regular hairdresser (Toni and Guy)commented on what an ace cut my last one was.Even had the same girl twice (and she remembered me).
I think the earliest I've requested a cut is 7.30 (time to get a couple of lattes supped first),but (and ISTBC) I think the first cut is offered from 7.

Maid Marion had a trim last time we were in the clubhouse and was happy with the result. I don't think they would do a major re-style, but for a quick tidy B&B is just fine. You may also be interested to know you can book in advance - Just go here to do so

Jimbob - How's johnboy by the way? The thorny issue of tips has come up before and I have to say caused quite a disparity of opinions. Try thisthread, although some of it is more general. I think the answer was that some people leave a couple of quid, some not, but nothing was expected by the staff

Always - a fiver if OK a tenner if really good. That's what I give the washer at my normal hairdresser's and seems appropriate to me. Mind you, by the looks on their faces, I must be in a minority.

Or say it takes you so long to check in that you dont have time to go to the CH, honestly if they tried to bill me for a haircut no show after spending I don't know how long trying to check in at the UC counter WW III would erupt :D

in all honesty they could not monitor that, as BAA also add their own time scale onto the whole security/shoe carnival.....

Anyway, the entire point is that everything (well, aside from Wifi)) in the CH is free.... and the only reason they charge for Wifi is that you can always check using the Free computers in house.....

Enjoy the perks, but for those who have not been lucky enough on the day to get an appointment, if you are running late, it's nice for those hoping for a cancellation to actually get a late slot.[^]

You can book a haircut from 7am, Ladies haircuts are usually for a 60 minute slot, and if your Wife has long-ish hair, they will need the time. If your flight leaves at 9.30 you need to allow an hour for boarding, so i'd book her in for 7.30am, though the Bumble Salon will be able to advise you better than I. I'd definately pre-book though.

As others have said, it is polite to call if you cant make the appointment. They will then try and accomodate you when you do arrive if you are delayed due to traffic or security.

I have no issue with the haircuts in either the LHR or LGW CH, kind of sad but haven't had to pay for a haircut in a long time.
