LAX fares in July

I need to travel to LAX the first week of July and the lowest economy fare that is coming up is 747 pounds for an economy return ticket for all dates.

This seems rather steep, checking ExpertFlyer there appears to be seats.

Did I miss a trick here?

It does seem a bit steep - I guess it's ramping up for the summer season. The M+M fares offer good savings at this time.

Well...

West coast of the US, peak travel season (July) = high fares? Yup!

Expedia and Travelsupermarket suggest that £700+ is the going rate for a direct flight with BA / ANZ / VS.

What about booking a holiday package? VH for example. That sometimes works out cheaper at peak times.

Even the very cheapest, including a stop in MSP (so 2 flights in each direction), with Northworst is £579 + tax/fees.

Starting August 30 there is MaxJet at about 40GBP more but probably a better value.

MPM is around £562 in July but availability doesn't look good.

MPN in PE is around £1002 with better availabily??

For that type of money why not look at Maxjet into Vegas then hop on a shuttle down to lax, ok you spend an extra couple of hours traveling, but in far better seats than VS Y.

You could use the 50% off Economy redemption sale to get you into NYC or MCO, and then do a cheap internal. Or there is the 20% off for ORD or IAD.

Thanks,
Richard

Thanks for all the suggestions. The maxjet option really is the most attractive, to LV this time and as I do this nearly every month then to LAX as well.
