Growing airport needs more runway
OUR OPINION: EXPANSION WOULD BE AN INVESTMENT IN COUNTY'S FUTURE

There is only one realistic choice today for Broward County commissioners deciding the fate of Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport: Expand the south runway to 8,000 feet. The airport is a major economic driver in Broward whose expansion should be encouraged, not hindered in a misguided attempt to retard growth and progress.

That would be a good thing, I've had the pleasure of flying out of FLA a number of times and compared to MIA it's a dream of an airport. Now if they expand the runway to accommodate international flights it's no more Miami for me, ever!

Erm, sorry to be picky but I thought that Fort Lauderdale was FLL?
