On board luggage or checked luggage?

Hi, I've got a cordless hair styler that takes small gas cyliners "Braun Independent" it's called. Can I take it on board in my hand luggage, or does it have to go in the hold?

http://www.virgin-atlantic.com/baggage_ ... es.view.do would suggest neither. Don't know if anyone can elaborate.

Personally I use an electric hairdryer and electric ceramic straighteners - so have never had this problem...

My hair's never long enough to straighten even if it was curly :D, but I think you might be ok with one of these in your carry on - best to ring VS directly and check with them.

Cheers

The gas styler may only be carried in your hand luggage but you are not permitted to carry any spare gas cartridges either in your hand luggage or checked luggage.
