Dozy Tier Point Question

So, I requalified VS Gold for another year.

I'm now trying to work out when my new membership year starts. The current card expires end of 02/08, which marks the end of the 13 month window.

So, that makes the 12 month period to finish at the end of January, at which point, as I've already requalified Au, TPs are reset to zero and my new membership year starts on 1st Feb.

Therefore, am I working it out right by saying a flight taken in January will count toward this years tier point earning (i.e. not really help any), and a flight taken in February will count toward my 2008 tier points?

Cheers,
Mike

Your Gold membership year is a rolling 13 month period. So, if your membership expires at the end of February 2008, your next card will be valid until end of March 2009.

As you have re-qualified already, it is my understanding that any tier points you earn before 1st March 2008 will be worthless.

It is explained here on the VS website.

Other than those alledged secret tiers - but you may need quite a few more to see the benefits ;)

If the CARD expires at the end of Feb 2008, that means your membership year should expire at end January 2008 (as you get an extra month on the validity of the CARD to allow for post of new card or an extra month to use Gold benefits if you don't maintain that level for the next year. If you have any questions, ring up Premier and ask. They can tell you your membership year and where/when your Tier Points will count

Ah, Juliet, thanks for that. [y] I was intending to post a query similar to Mike's but between the pair of you, you have answered my query. I hadn't realised you got an extra month's validity on the card.

Mind you, I think I'm going to need more than that given that the new one is probably in the post! [:0]

Sorry Juliet, I'm confused now. [?]

If Mike's membership expires end of Feb 08, but his CARD expires end of March 08. Does this mean he will start to earn tier points again for the next membership year, (which will end 30 April 09) at the end of Feb 08?

The information on the VS page Nick posted is incorrect in places, I flagged this with them last week.

The original versions I created are here:

Simple version

If your membership card says 02/08, then you actually have until end of 01/08 to earn the required number of TP to requalify. You next year will then run from start of 02/08 until end of 03/09 to requalify (your card in that instance will show 04/09).

Thanks,
Richard

Y'know, this would all be SO much simpler & easier if VS just stuck to a 12 month renewal window like everyone else [:w]

Well, I know I would not have qualified for Gold without their 13 month window.

As 10 Economy trips in 12 months is hard to do in my company, but the extra month window and 2 trips in November last year allowed me to reach it. Otherwise, I'd have only got there through changing cabins to PE and a few more trips.
