I had the same thought a while ago - I actually quite like the J2000 Seats. Sure a piar of them would look great in my new Virgin-Atlantic themed office - yes I do need to get out more.....
Thanks,
Richard

That would be telling now!
Looking at how old some of the crews are on some of the US carriers, I think the lovely young VS lot have a long way yet.

Thanks,
Richard

Good riddance, I say. My VS experience last year was heavenly, EXCEPT for that awful J2000 seat. Can't wait for the suite in May.
With all due respect to those who like that nasty old seat, of course. [:o)]

Forgive my ignorance: what about the J2000 was/is so bad?

I must admit the seat when fully extended out was not the most confortable for sleeping in but i always found that if you brought the seat a little bit further up it was perfectly fine.
Anyway im not bothered about sleeping on them, they where the best looking seats and cabin interior ever! Not yet experienced the suite yet should be soon though, have a trip to JFK and SFO coming up, and they look just as good, although it does look like your packed in a little bit.

Chuck, this is all about personal preferences. For me, the J2000 was fine for sitting, but miserable for sleeping. Just about everyone agrees that when the seat is fully lowered, it doesn't work for sleeping. Many note that if you raise it a little from the lowest position, you have an improved sleeping position.
If I'm going to sleep on a plane, I need something flat. An empty row of coach has worked for me in the past. I have high hopes that the suite will work for me in my next VS trip come May. Just a few hours of sleep will upgrade me from zombie to human upon arrival at LHR.

Andrew,
With the slowed down pace of UCS retrofits I may be "stuck" in a J2000 seat on my upcoming trip LAX/LHR.
