When my wife and I land at LHR on our first trip on Virgin, we plan to take full advantage of the revivals lounge. I have a few questions, however, about the revivals lounge and would appreciate any information anyone has to offer.

BOOKING TREATMENTS

When, where and how do you book treatments like neck massages? Is there a best time to book the treatments? Are any of the treatments complimentary or is there a charge?

FOOD

We will be landing in the morning. Do you receive a better breakfast in the revivals lounge or on the plane?

LUGGAGE

Do we pick up our luggage first and go through immigration before we enter the revivals lounge? How far will we have to carry our luggage to the revivals lounge?

GROUND TRANSPORTATION

Since we are using frequent flyer miles for our UC tickets, we will not receive the complimentary Virgin limousine service. [:(] Since we do not know how long we want to stay in the revivals lounge, we are leery of booking a private car in advance as any such service will want to know exactly what time to pick us up. Are the lines for black cabs at Heathrow usually bearable? If so, how far are the taxi stands from the revivals lounge? Are there any private car companies that can be hired on a moment's notice (preferably via a telephone call from the revivals lounge) without entailing a wait?

Let me try and help here - let me know if you need anymore detail:-

Treatments - Once you've entered the Revivals lounge and been signed in at reception, go to the V.Touch room which is located in the Shower Corridor and knock on the door. If there is no answer, then you will probably find hte beautician is helping out at the main bar area - look for the lovely lady in white. She will help you with your requirements - please note that all the treatments from the main Clubhouses are nto avail but I can highly recommedn the Sensational Shave or the Rejuvenating Facial. All treatments are free, and the staff used are the same ones that look after the main LHR clubhouse.

Food - I like the extra sleep in the seat, and have breakfast in the Revivals lounge. The choice in Revivals is greater, one of V50's has commented that they serve the best egg and soldiers in London

Luggage- Yes, you collect your luggageand pass through immigration . When you walk into the main arrivals hall with the crowd of 5000, you head towards the car park lifts which are straight ahead in the far right hand corner and go up one floor, exit to the Right and you will see the revivals lounge entrance (Smoked double glass doors that open automatically). Its a very short walk to Revivals, less than 2 minutes. There is a storage area in Revivals behind the recpetion area.

Ground Transport - Where are you heading to? This will help me answer your question better. The queues for Black Cabs are very bearable but they are not cheap.

I always try and spend a good hour in Revivals having breakfast, shower, reading the tabloids and chattign to the staff - apparantly I have an admirer in Revivals (or so pixuk tells me!).

Thank you very much for all of the information. I probably shouldn't have asked for so much in one post. Anyway, my wife and I will be need transport from LHR to our hotel in Kensington. Again, we very much prefer private car transport with meet and greet service. When we are on holiday we try to avoid standing in any line if at all possible. However, black cab transport in London is so very civilized we wouldn't mind a lining up for a black cab if there is a reasonable chance we won't spend all morning waiting for a ride.

Don't worry about asking all in one post - if anything it will help when people do a search for stuff on Revivals - should help me save typign it out again!

Thanks for calrifying that you are going to be in Kensington.

That is on the outskirts of Central London, and is about 25 minutes from Heathrow at the most - it all depends on time of day. After 9:30am the M4 should be clear. I actually think you can do Black Cab reservations over the phone - do a search using Google and you should find a few people online with registered Balck cabs that can do a LHR pickup.

Licensed taxis (ensure you get these as some hawkers can rip you off!)are fairly easily avilable at LHR - they actually feed them into the central area to ensure a constant supply. If you'd like to pre-book ther are a couple of companies I can recommend:

Zingo (08700 700700 http://www.zingotaxis.co.uk)
or
Dial a Cab (0207 251 0581 http://www.dialacab.co.uk)

Both you can book when you arrive,and you can pay with cash or credit cards (normally between £40 - £50 to London). Generic information can be obtained from the Taxi Information service at terminal 3 arrivals: + 44 (0)20 8745 4655.

I mostly leave the car at the Radisson Edwardian hotel so get the hopper bus back (next to the taxi rank),there were a lot of hawkers working the rank and bus station on new years day.The eggs benedict in the arrivals lounge with a glass of Bucks Fizz is rather good(if Mrs Parrs driving home)
