1 Tier Point needed

Hi all hope you can help,
By the end of January (post PVG) I'll need a single tier point to make Ag before previous points expire. Does anyone have any tips how best to get this bearing in mind I've not got any further journeys planned before then? Obviously this isn't for Au so spending loads on flights is OTT and I'll just be patient [:)]
Thanks
(FYI I'm London based)

Only way to get a TP is by taking a flight. As you aren't going abroad a BMI flight looks the most realistic but you either need a fairly lengthy flight or to be flying on a premium class ticket on a shorter route (IIRC the discounted PE ticket earns TP's) but they aren't that cheap.
I guess you need to decide how important getting Au status is to you, as apart from the PE check in and the extra miles when flying the benefits aren't that great and are they worth the cost to get the 1 TP you need.

So does a one-way full fare economy (booked in Y) internal BMI flight.
I did this a few years back - MAN to LHR; my sibling and I did a Top Gear style race, I took the plane, and he took my car. He dropped me off about 90 minutes before the flight, and then proceeded to travel directly to LHR. He beat me by about 5 minutes if I recall.

Indeed, I did the usual of phoning him from the Diamond Lounge whilst munching biscuits and drinkign tea, to see how he was doing on the M6. I seem to remember he had stopped off to buy his garage food and was trying to eat the packet of crisps [}:)] It was a fun experiment for sure!

Hey guys, cheers for the tips, I'll have a look in the coming weeks and see if it's do-able. In any case I'll be flying later in the year and I'll probably get Ag then.

A family funeral at the weekend in Belfast necessitated me booking last minute flights on bmi. With only GBP20 between the 'cheapest' Y fare and J it was an easy choice and I've now made Ag - although not in the best of circumstances.
Slightly off topic, it was a shame that they only loaded 5 meals for J when there were 17 J passengers causing numerous arguments as otherwise the lounges/seat/priority baggage were all good.
Thanks again for the tips.
