Boston Clubhouse

There's a New York Times article today saying that Logan now has a Virgin Clubhouse with a Virgin Touch salon--which opened last month. I may have missed it--but I am fairly sure from colleagues that Virgin still chunnel through Aer Longus lounge. Any insight anyone?

I know a new VA Clubhouse is being built in Boston, or maybe it has already opened but been low key???

SO maybe its opening soon!

Well, I was in the Aer lingus 'lounge' at BOS on Saturday and the VS person told me the VS lounge is going to open in January. This was the same VS person who told me 4 weeks ago that it was opening in December.

I'm next planning to fly through BOS mid January. I'm preparing for lounge disappointment already.

I am hoping to be there in mid February, so I hope they pull their fingers out.

The Aer Lingus lounge is okay, but it ain't a Clubhouse. [8D][;)]

Well, to be honest, I preferred the North Worst lounge to the Aer Lingus one. At least the chairs were comfortable. The furniture in the Aer Lingus room is a mish-mash of random stuff probably bought from charity shops. The place has all the charm and atmosphere of a dentists waiting room.

Don't wholeheartedly disagree with that sentiment, but I thought the food and drink were good and we managed to tuck ourselves out of the way in the annexe off to the back left of the entrance where we had a big TV all to ourselves.

Didn't like the lack of free wi-fi, but the whole experience was better than the zoo upstairs in the main terminal. [;)]

The BOS clubhouse is being built in the space that was the old BA F lounge in the basement area, last month the entrance was still covered in plastic.Must say I liked the Northworst lounge better than the current EI lounge, all the good food in both lounges was/is catered by VS.

According to the latest Insider the Boston CH will open in 'February'. [8D]

I just hope it is early February. [:D][8D]

The link also provides a couple of artist's impression of the new layout.

Reminiscent of the EWR clubhouse, and window-less too, at least from the two pictures.

If it is near the current Aer Lingus lounge, which understand it is, then it is in the bowels of the terminal under the Departure area, so no windows wouldn't be a surprise.

Oooh, so we need to sort out a haircut run for later in the year to give it a proper V-Flyer group Christening....

Other than the window-less aspect, I wouldnt say it looks like the EWR CH, more like a window-less JNB CH.

I sent an email to Virgin to ask when exactly in February the Boston CH would be opening. I have just got a reply back saying 'March 08' [?][n]

Would that be March as in March or March as in April?

I asked at check-in 10 mins ago, and the agent told me it will be Feb 22nd.

She didn't say which Feb though [:w]

Maybe they share the same special version of the Gregorian calendar that the AmEx UK Centurion Revitalisation team use. [:w]

Right, must sort a trip out to BOS so I can tick the new CH off my list. Hard bit will be trying to arrange a trip there that doesn't clash with Nick....[:p]

LOL - I must admit, I am tempted to slip another quick one in once the baseball season starts, if Derby Dave (or anyone else [;)] ) is up for it. [:w]

UPDATE!!

The VS lady in the EI lounge also said it will be 22nd Feb. If two separate people tell you the same thing, it must be true...

When does the baseball season end Nick? Both Sarah and I have never been to a proper baseball game, and the MO will be open in Summer.....

It runs from April to September (with the playoffs for the successful teams after that).

Each team plays 162 regular season games, so there are over 80 played at each team's home ground, even if they don't make the play offs.

In all my trips to the US, I've never been to a game. Usually because I'm busy elsewhere or miles out of town. Watched a few on the TV but just when I think I have the rule....

Lets face it, you would never hear of a cricket match being cursed by a goat.
