Hi All

Great forum - found out a lot of things i did not know about flicking through here!!

I am flying to DXB on Friday and wondered if anyone knew what flight VS400 is before it becomes VS400 (if that makes sense) just so i can keep abreast of its arrival at LHR prior to me departing. Also is there any form of lounge for premium economy passengers with only red status cards?

thanks in advance all.

Speedy

Welcome to the v-flyer family.
Regarding which route the a/c arrives from no-one really knows. Regarding the particular a/c for security reasons no-one knows the exact a/c until a day before departure.

However if you look a the handy tool here Which a/c tool this wil give you the type of a/c that flies the route.

The a/c selection for Dubai is very wide but you have a good chance of the excellent v:port.[y]

Hi,

There is no set inbound a/c that operates the VS400. A quick look shows that the most regularly used inbound flight is the VS652 from Lagos, although in the last month it has also been operated by the VS10 (JFK), VS301 (DEL), VS251 (PVG), VS24 (LAX) so as you can see it really does vary.

As for lounge access, there is no VS lounge you can use (unless you are a guest of a UC pax or Au card holder), you could however purchase entry in to the Servisair lounge for around £15pp.

What time were you intending to be in LHR and how many are there of you as I may be able to bring you in as a guest - into the Clubhouse, that is.

General question/ situation if anyone could possibly provide some sort of answer.

Took above flight on 22 feb. Me , wife and son on 1 PNR (cash ticket), Brother and sis in law on mile + money on separate PNR and mother and father also Miles + money on 3rd PNR - all in PE. All had seats pre booked when flights booked back in October 2007

PNR 1 (Me) 19 D,F,G
PNR 2 (Bruv) 20 H,K
PNR 3 (Mum) 19 H,K

21 Feb @ 21:00 checked in me online - all good although website v. slow. Checked in brother - all good although site getting slower. Got to parents one and site packs up with messages coming back - Unable to check in at this time - try later blah blah.

Finally got them checked in at 06:00 next moring but it had assigned seats 22 D,G - not what we had prebooked and not even together.

Called VS - unable to help, asked lady before check in - unable to help and only explanation is that 'seats are not guaranteed blah blah'.

Interesting thing was that when we boarded the people in seats 19 H, K were - wait for it - Virgin staff!!! Cabin was full so i am very suspicious that some underhand tactics were in play and the VS staff nicked my parents seats because they did not fancy sitting apart.

Can't find anything on website that says if you don't check in straight away your seats will be passed to others.

Also 1 other thing on the return VS401 01 March lunch was not served until 6 hours 10 minutes into the flight. Pain in the @rse when you have a 3 year old whom you carried out of bed into the taxi expecting something on the plane a couple of hours into the flight.

All in all not a great effort by virgin and i am considering whether to take it up with CS.
