CPT-LHR incident this week

I flew VS604 5th March - on arrival in to Heathrow I was chatting with a VS pilot who asked if I was on the aircraft that aborted its take off...I was not. He said oh, it was a few days earlier...then he declined to tell me anymore.

Anyone know what happened?

Also, for reference, I was on VS603 in Upper Class that was delayed 14 hours 19 Feb. They overnighted all the passengers and gave all U/C passengers 50,000 miles as an apology. What a treat ... BA rarely say sorry.

Not sure that I'd class an aborted takeoff as an incident. These things happen all the time, although rarely make it to the media. Could have been any number of minor faults or instrumentation that lead to the crew aborting. If the passengers were all overnighted then it sounds like it was an obvious mechanical issue, but again it could have been something as minor as a faulty sensor.

I quite agree - incident implies a single distinct event, which this does not sound like. My vote also goes to careful use of such words ... one of the joys of VFlyer is that people don't get over excited when someone farts in the cockpit and an 'incident' ensues [}:)]
