travelling infant

Hi all,
I post this question on behalf of a friend. He is travelling to Hong Kong(VS200) next month in Economy. He will be travelling with his 4 month old baby and as such has requested a skycot/bassinett. When he logs onto Virgin Atlantic site and inputs his res number the old 'seat will be allocated at check in' number pops up.

His question is will virgin take into account the fact that he is travelling with an infant and issue him with a bulkhead seat so the baby can use a skycot-or will it be a bun fight on check-in to get said seats?

Any advice is greatly appreciated

Cheers,
NOC

Simple answer - yes...

BUT I'd still get there early enough to ensure they get one. Basically, they HAVE to accommodate the infant, so even if someone else 'snags' them, they'll find themselves swiftly moved once your friend and infant turn up. [y]

This was a question that I asked a couple of years ago - in effect do VS count down skycot positions based on babes on board and within each class. I was told yes only to find that they had all been allocated even though we were there early - we got pushed up into PE.

One thing to be aware of is that they only need to allocate one of the seats with the SkyCot to one of the parents - so if there is a family of three with one Skycot position and only one seat next to it free for the other then that is a possibility.
