as this will be my 1st time in UC i was wondering if it matters too much on my dress code, after all i'm not exactly looking for an upgrade [|:)]

i was thinking just jeans and t-shirt and trainers - i can't see this being a problem

Of course to some, full evening dress is mandatory.

Dress for your comfort. Personally it's nearly always jeans and sneakers with a rugby style top but this varies from individual to individual. Flying is no longer the event it used to be, now it is just a method of transport.

I find it helps me relax if I'm dressed casually. It's also easier to get on and off the bar stool!

Wear whatever will be comfortable. I've seen blokes in shorts and flip-flops, and also in suit/shirt/tie. I've seen a woman in a wedding dress.

I wear whatever is comfortable, you have paid your money so can dress how you like. Jeans, sneakers and a t-shirt will be fine.

Yep, jeans will be fine, whatever you feel comfortable in. I've never felt like I've been treated any differently when wearing jeans in UC.

I love listening to my Mother-In-law when she talks about wearing her fur coat and court shoes [:0]to fly to Berlin during the 50s. I think flying was a lot more glamorous in those days.

However, flying regularly between BDA and LGW with BA i am pleased to report that the blazer and tie brigade are alive and well!

The smarter you are, the more likely everyone else will think you're an op-up.

My preferences are for leather thongs and tank tops. YMMV.

That's alright, you can always spot the people that are travelling in J for the first time. [;)]

I have flown in a suit after leaving the office in a rush, and I have flown in shorts and a t-shirt (which proved to be problematic when I arrived in the UK in the middle of winter). I ususally just dress for comfort, jeans, casual shirt etc.

Whatever you wear it will no doubt look better than what you see some folks in the US donning before boarding their flights. Ugh.

And may I say, thank god for it! I realize that many are comfortable in a more casual style whilst traveling, but I must make the case for dressing up. A comfortable, well-tailored suit -- or jacket and pants -- with a pressed white shirt and quietly patterned tie (which can be loosened for sleep) is a sign of one's propriety and sense of style. Yes, yes...I'm an anachronism, but nothing says style like...style. Whatever you choose to wear, I hope you enjoy your flight!

I've just spoken with my dear mother who is currently ensconsed in LGW Terraces. With this thread in mind, I asked her to carry out a quick survey, and here are the results - two gentelmen, both middle-aged, are in there now wearing blazers (shiny buttons) and chinos. No ties though. Nice they made the effort, I guess.
