Is it possible to do an online check in when leaving Orlando can you check in online and then hand in your luggage at downtown disney. If so do you get charged to do this?

Yes ... And from memory as it's a couple of years ago I think the fee was $10.

If you are booked through VH, an Au card holder, or flying UC then it is free, otherwise there is a charge of $10 per pax.
