No doubt the 'highly qualified technical support team' are hammering it now, t least do it doesn't dangle.

Seriously though, that will have to be repaired one way or the other as it could come loose in a take off/landing.

I'm a little bit bemused as to why you have posted this information. Is it to alert us as to the problem when it comes to pre-selecting seats or is it in the expectation that something will be done about it? If it is the latter then you need to be aware that V-Flyer is independent of Virgin Atlantic, although many staffers are members and VS do look at these boards.

I presume that if you had a hand-held DVD player that the staff were aware of the problem so that they were able to log it and have it rectified at the first possible opportunity

Hey, as described..
So V-flyers if picking the seat were aware we had problems a few days previously.
Staff great and quick to rectify the issue.. and I'm sure it was promptly repaired that very day..
will avoid comments in future.

You're an optimist HL ... the staff may have filed a report, doesn't mean anything will be done about it quickly. Earlier this year I had a front row PE seat on a 343 with the monitor held together by tape! Nearly a month later it still was ... the FA said on both occasions, oh yes, it's been reported!

I wouldn't worry. I think the mod comments aren't 'don't say X' in this case, it's a 'were you thinking you can report cabin defects to Virgin here?' type question.

If anyone finds a cabin defect during the flight, then they should let one of the crew know, so it can be written up in the defect log, or checked to see if it's an already known defect that hasn't been repaired yet (known as a 'deferred defect').

We could even have a 'cabin defect watch' on here. If you find a cabin defect onboard, and report it to the crew, also log it on V-Flyer.

Next time a poster from V-F is on that aircraft in the same seat, they can let us know if it's been fixed or not ;).

Mike

Seemed to me to be a heads-up comment for other travellers, we had through process of sorting inflight solution logged with cabin crew.
Given many of you fly much more than us mortals, maybe a route to track issues, and keep all informed, obviously VA being made aware directly.

I didn't say 'quickly'. I'm not that daft! [:D] I said 'at the first possible opportunity' which may be when the plane goes in for a D check and could be months away [:w]

northern henry, my query is exactly as mike smashing described. Sometimes people think we are part of VS and, while I felt you wnated to tip people off about the dodgy seat, I just needed to make sure that it was just that and that you weren't expecting us to go out there with our screwdrivers and put things right. [:D]
