Fast tracking

Hello all,
I'm flying UC for the first time in a few weeks, LHR-JFK return (it's my 40th birthday treat). Looking forward to sampling all the delights of the clubhouses, Revivals, etc... just wondering though. Does UC get you fast-tracked through passport control / Immigration?

And how do you do those fancy countdown signatures? I do like them.

Hi and welcome to V-Flyer.

Yes, flying UC allows you to use Virgin's own security channel which is exclusive to Upper Class passengers and FC Gold members.

The countdown timer is something that is a feature for members of V-Flyer, so why not join and get one[;)]

Errr... Neil - immigration and passport control.

No, not in JFK. And in LHR, all EU residents use the same channel regardless (or IRIS). Non-EU Upper Class passengers can use a pink slip to access Fast Track (which is slower than the EU lane anyway [;)])

Oh rubbish, that will teach me to try and do real work instead of spending all my working day on V-Flyer[ii]

Not quite true, an EU national can pass through the non EU lane if traveling with a non EU family member...Of course the non EU family member can pass through the EU lane if traveling with an EU member, so you get to pick the fastest lane at that time [y]

Thanks for all the info!

Bah... I dream of the day I get 'invited' to the fast-track... Still, I've got plenty to look forward to on these flights - can't wait to see the LHR & JFK clubhouses.

Not sure about membership yet; I'm pondering it.

Understood. You can always sign up for the introductory package and give it a try. Just FYI, member fees help support the bandwidth and maintenance our site requires.

Register for Iris - no matter which airline or class you're flying you get through very quickly.

What's the lower age limit on Iris? Is our 11yr old daughter precluded?

Children aged eight or over can register for IRIS provided they are accompanied by a parent or guardian at the time they register.
